About the Position
As a Streetscapes Officer Weed Control, you'll be responsible for maintaining the City's streetscapes, public spaces and infrastructure through effective weed and grass control.
The role focuses on weed spraying, mechanical and manual weed removal, and general streetscape maintenance across roads, kerblines, footpaths, drains, medians, reserves, town sites and shopping precincts.
You'll carry out works in line with safety, environmental and traffic management requirements, using a range of equipment and approved methods depending on site conditions.
The role also involves mulching, general public space maintenance as directed, and acting as the City's eyes on the ground by identifying and reporting hazards, incidents or damaged infrastructure.
Working as part of a team, you'll take pride in delivering clean, safe and well-presented public areas that support the City's Program of Pride and meet community expectations.
About You
The successful person will have a good understanding of the safe handling and application of herbicides and be comfortable working outdoors in all conditions.
You're physically capable of carrying out manual work and have experience using equipment such as spray packs, whipper snippers and other small plant or hand tools.
Safety is important to you, and you always understand and follow workplace health and safety requirements.
You work well as part of a team, follow direction from supervisors, and complete tasks reliably and to a consistent standard.
You will have the following:
WA 'White Card'.
Chem Cert or equivalent weed spraying accreditation (or ability to obtain).
Current WA 'C' class.
Basic Traffic Management certificate.
Basic First Aid certificate.
