Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Site Superintendent / Construction Manager with 15+ years in civil and building construction projects, based in Darwin. The role involves leading site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget, while maintaining high-quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record managing multidisciplinary teams across complex construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and supervise on-site construction teams, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure efficient project delivery.
* Implement, monitor, and enforce safety and quality standards in accordance with regulatory requirements.
* Oversee daily site operations, including scheduling, resource allocation, and coordination between trades.
* Manage project budgets, cost control, and reporting to ensure financial performance aligns with project targets.
* Conduct site inspections, progress reporting, and resolve technical or operational issues promptly.
* Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure clear communication and project alignment.
* Prepare and maintain project documentation, including site diaries, risk assessments, and compliance records.
* Mentor and develop on-site personnel, fostering a high-performing, collaborative team environment.
Selection Criteria / Required Skills
* Minimum 15 years' experience in civil and building construction, with demonstrated leadership of large-scale projects.
* Proven experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams and subcontractors.
* Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and quality standards.
* Excellent understanding of safety regulations, risk management, and compliance procedures.
* Effective project management skills, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning.
* Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
* Relevant qualifications in construction management, civil engineering, or equivalent.
* Experience with project management software and digital reporting tools is desirable.
