Join our team as a Local Laws Officer
Are you passionate about supporting your community and ensuring compliance with local laws in a fair and consistent way? We currently have two positions available, offering an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic, field‐based team. In this role, you will investigate, resolve and manage compliance matters, requiring strong communication, sound judgement and the ability to navigate complex situations while delivering a high level of customer service. Responsibilities
* Investigating complaints, conducting patrols and gathering evidence relating to breaches of Local Laws and relevant legislation.
* Taking appropriate enforcement action, including issuing notices and preparing compliance documentation.
* Providing accurate advice and information to customers and stakeholders.
* Managing and prioritising a caseload of investigations in line with legislative and organisational requirements.
* Preparing reports, correspondence and legal documentation.
* Contributing to team outcomes and supporting a high standard of service delivery.
Qualifications
* Strong customer service skills, with the ability to communicate confidently and de‐escalate situations in person, as well as over the phone and in written communication.
* Ability to apply sound judgement in both straightforward and complex situations.
* Strong investigative, analytical and problem‐solving skills.
* Well‐developed written communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
* Local government or legislative experience is highly desirable but not essential.
