Job Description
Step into a pivotal role within our high-performing Technical Services team. Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer - Medium Term Planning, your main responsibilities include supporting planning process of the operation and assisting with the coordination, planning, design and compliance of mining activities in accordance with the safety health management system. A day to day for you may look like;
- Champion medium-term mine planning (3–12 months): Develop, update, and communicate actionable mine plans.
- Collaborate across disciplines: Align plans with short‑term planners, geologists, operations, and environmental and safety teams.
- Optimise operations: Use Vulcan, Deswik, Leica FMS, MinVu for pit designs, dump scheduling, and haulage analysis.
- Drive efficiency: Identify productivity enhancements and cost-saving opportunities.
- Communicate with impact: Prepare reports and present planning insights to management and stakeholders.
- Develop talent: Mentor junior engineers and champion continuous improvement.
Your knack for teamwork, stakeholder engagement, and innovative problem-solving will be key to success.
About You
We're looking for someone with:
- A relevant tertiary qualification
- 2+ Years of mining engineering experience, preferably in open‑cut coal operations
- Proficiency in Vulcan, Deswik, Spry
- Strong communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills
- A safety-first mindset and ability to foster positive workplace culture
- Flexibility to work autonomously and collaboratively
