Hours: Day/Night/Weekend shift / 43 hours per week
Salary: $57.71 to $79.44 per hour (Registrar Year 1 to Registrar Year 6)
Position Overview
The position is a 12‐month Community Palliative Care & Geriatric Registrar with 6 months in Community Palliative Care and 6 months in Geriatric Medicine. It is fully accredited through the RACP into the GP program, and the incumbent must be enrolled in Specialist Palliative Care Training.
Location: Werribee Mercy Hospital, with offices in Sunshine, Parkville and Werribee.
Responsibilities include providing psychological and spiritual support, caring for patients of all ages with life‐limiting illnesses in their homes, and managing complex symptoms in the Werribee Mercy Hospital Inpatient unit.
Responsibilities
* Provide physical, psychological, spiritual and social care to patients with life‐limiting illnesses.
* Deliver home‐based palliative care across Melbourne's Western suburbs.
* Manage complex symptom control in the inpatient unit at Werribee Mercy Hospital.
* Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, therapists and social workers.
* Participate in teaching and supervision from senior palliative care physicians and a geriatrician.
* Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with Medicare and hospital standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Must hold a current valid APHRA medical registration.
* Full‐time commitment.
* Excellent clinical judgment, time management, organisational and communication skills.
* Compassionate, flexible, positive, and able to nurture respectful relationships.
* Strong desire to learn and grow within a multidisciplinary environment.
* Proof of current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
* Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccinations as required by public health orders.
