Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing contemporary, evidence-based nursing services and demonstrating competence in the provision of nursing care as specified by achievement of the standards of practice and registration requirements from the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA).

* The Registered Nurse supports excellence in nursing care and patient outcomes, is a competent clinician who provides nursing care with clinical competence and capability, optimising access to care services.
* The Registered Nurse works in partnership with the multidisciplinary team to provide person and family centred, quality, safe patient care.
The Registered Nurse – Prison and Youth Detention Health Services provides contemporary, evidence-based nursing services and demonstrates competence in the provision of nursing care as specified by achievement of the standards of practice and registration requirements from the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA). This is evidenced by educational preparation, continuing professional development, adhering to relevant legislation and the context of care.
Key Responsibilities
* To assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients within the prison and youth detention health service.
* To work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
* To maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to relevant policies and procedures.
Requirements
* A current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA).
* Demonstrated expertise in primary health care nursing, with experience in corrections, primary health care, emergency or rural and remote health.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and patients.
* A commitment to ongoing professional development and contribution to quality improvement processes.
* Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16.
