Karratha Youth Accommodation Service is a 6 bed facility with an additional two on site independent living units.
The Crisis Centre provides for short-term accommodation for young people 15 to 25 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
The Night Support Worker will work with young people who have a range of low, moderate, high and complex needs which may be related to experiencing complex trauma and issues related to homelessness.
We are looking for multiple Casual night support workers and open to the consideration of permanent part- time if suits the preferred candidate. Please note this role does require nights and shift work.
The Night Support Worker will
* Establish effective relationship with young people and stakeholders to enhance outcome for young people facing homelessness
* Encourage self-determination and participation of each individual
* Develop individual case plans in collaboration with clients and include a range of interventions that clearly address the need of the client
* Keep accurate and up to date clients record for all clients in accordance with TSA standards and procedures using TSA information systems
The Night Support Worker will also
* Demonstrate the ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team of agency approach
* Provide support to other members of the team
* Work within the identified support system and alongside stakeholders to enhance outcome for young people
* Work within managed time frames both individually and as a member of larger multi system team
* Maintain accurate and up to date client and resource management records;
* Implement safe work practices both in the work place and in the community when working away from the office
* Risks to clients and staff are identified and raised to the attention of Manager within a timely manner
* Accidents and incidents are minimised by safety plans and self- protection education
You will have
* Minimum Certificate 3 or 4 in Human Services or related field, or relevant equivalent experience in the Human Services Industry
* Experience in working with youth in community or residential setting desirable
* Drivers licence
* First aid certificate (current or able to get within three months)
* Willing to obtain a National criminal check
* Working with Childrens Check
