Ronald McDonald House North Australia is one of many Ronald McDonald House chapters operating within a federated structure across Australia and globally. The organisation provides a vital home away from home, delivering accommodation and essential support programs for families with seriously ill children. Operating 24/7, 365 days a year, Ronald McDonald House North Australia works in close partnership with government, local partners, hospitals, donors, staff and volunteers to remove barriers, strengthen families and promote healing when children need healthcare. An opportunity now exists for a values-driven CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER to lead the organisation through its next phase of growth and stabilisation. Based in Townsville, North Queensland, the role offers the opportunity to live and work in the Tropics, with a strong sense of community, short commutes, access to the outdoors and a lifestyle that balances professional challenge with family-friendly living. Reporting to the Board, the CEO will provide inclusive and effective leadership across the organisation, strengthen culture, and build trusted relationships with key stakeholders including hospitals, donors, partners, volunteers, RMHC Australia and the wider community. The role requires a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on leadership, with a strong focus on people, communication, governance and organisational performance. This opportunity will suit an experienced CEO, or an executive (such as a COO) ready to step into a CEO role within a mission-driven, community-focused organisation. Candidates will bring energy, momentum and a hands-on leadership approach, along with experience leading smaller organisations, and a collaborative, relationship-based style.
