A senior upstream gas operator is seeking an experienced Development Manager to strengthen its Australian development capability.
This is not a project delivery or pure engineering role.
The position sits at the interface of subsurface, development framing, capital planning and non-operated JV engagement, supporting investment decisions and long-term asset value.
The Role
Lead and shape upstream gas development activities from early opportunity through execution support.
Provide subsurface-informed development judgement, including review and challenge of FDPs, reserves and development options.
Represent the company in non-operating JV technical and governance forums, influencing outcomes through credibility and preparation.
Integrate subsurface, facilities, cost and schedule considerations into coherent development recommendations.
Support capital projects through the development-to-execution interface.
Provide leadership and guidance to a small technical team.
About You
~15+ years' experience in oil and gas, with strong exposure to gas developments.
A background that combines subsurface understanding with development and project exposure (e.g., reservoir/production into development, or equivalent).
Experience operating in non-operated JV environments, comfortable challenging operators constructively.
A development- and value-focused mindset, able to translate technical outcomes into commercial decisions.
The seniority and judgement to operate independently and represent the company at partner level.
