Pre-Contracts Manager – HVAC Construction
Working for a long-established building services contractor that delivers mechanical solutions across commercial buildings, education, government, and large refurbishment and fit-out projects. They have a strong reputation for engineered solutions, repeat builder relationships, and reliable delivery across projects up to $5m.
They're now looking to appoint a
Pre-Contracts Manager
to support their HVAC construction division.
The Role
You'll sit at the front end of the business, overseeing the full pre-construction process and ensuring the division has clear visibility across tenders, pricing, pipeline health, and client engagement.
Working closely with the Senior Estimator, you'll coordinate incoming opportunities, manage bid timeframes, maintain compliance across internal systems and workflow platforms, and ensure clients receive organised, accurate, and timely responses. While the Senior Estimator leads the technical pricing and complex bid strategy, you'll own the communication rhythm, stakeholder alignment, and day-to-day momentum of the bidding lifecycle.
You'll also be hands-on with estimating when required to help the team meet budget commitments and keep submissions moving efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and coordinate all tender and pre-contracts activity for HVAC construction projects up to $5m
Maintain pipeline visibility, bid tracking, and CRM hygiene
Drive internal communication between Estimating, Engineering, Project Management, Admin, and Business Unit leadership
Support estimating efforts, contributing to pricing and submissions where needed
Ensure compliance with internal systems, digital workflows, and pre-construction processes
Maintain strong, consistent engagement with builder clients and consultantsOversee document control, submission quality, and tender schedules
About You
Background in HVAC construction, estimating, or pre-contracts
Strong commercial awareness and confidence dealing with builders and consultant stakeholders
Highly organised, with the ability to keep multiple bids and deadlines moving
Comfortable working with digital systems, project workflows, and cloud-based platforms
Excellent communicator who enjoys a relationship-driven environment
Able to navigate internal teams and keep everyone aligned through the bid cycle
