We're looking for a skilled Systems Administrator to join our IT team and take ownership of managing, maintaining, and optimising our technology infrastructure. You'll play a key role in ensuring system reliability, performance, and security across servers, storage, networks, and end‑user systems.
This position suits someone with strong technical expertise, excellent problem‑solving skills, and a proactive approach to improving systems and supporting business operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Administer, configure, and maintain Windows across on‑premises and cloud environments.
* Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity to ensure smooth and secure operations.
* Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and other core infrastructure services.
* Perform regular system backups, disaster recovery testing, and data integrity checks.
* Apply security patches, software updates, and system upgrades as required.
* Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls in line with security policies.
* Troubleshoot and resolve system, network, and application issues in a timely manner.
* Collaborate with IT teams on infrastructure projects, migrations, and technology deployments.
* Maintain detailed documentation for configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting processes.
* Provide technical support and mentorship to junior IT staff.
Skills and Experience
* Proven experience as a Systems Administrator or in a similar infrastructure role.
* Strong knowledge of Windows Server and/or Linux operating systems.
* Experience with virtualisation technologies such as VMware or Hyper‑V.
* Familiarity with cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
* Scripting skills using PowerShell, Bash, or similar languages for automation.
* Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls).
* Experience with monitoring tools and log management systems.
* Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
* Relevant industry certifications (Microsoft, CompTIA, VMware) are advantageous.
Qualifications
* Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
* Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Administrator, CompTIA Server+, or VMware Certified Professional (VCP) are highly regarded.
Work Environment
This role offers a hybrid working model, combining remote flexibility with on‑site collaboration as needed. Some after‑hours maintenance or on‑call support may be required.
