Your Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly capable people leader to step into a critical acting leadership role within our Claims & Recoveries function. As the Claims and Recoveries Manager, you will lead a high-profile operational team during a period of strong executive focus and increasing performance expectations, while also playing a key role in exploring future operating model options for the function. This active leadership role involves shaping outcomes and driving accountability.
The successful candidate will help assess, shape and prepare the team for potential structural and capability changes as part of Ausgrid's broader transformation program.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead a large, high-volume operational team across claims assessment, customer compensation and third-party recoveries
* Drive improvements in productivity, quality, timeliness and cost control
* Lift performance and strengthen operational discipline in an area with strong executive visibility
* Explore and support future operating model options, including assessing structural, capability and workflow design opportunities
* Lead teams through change, consultation and transition activities as required
* Establish clear expectations, constructive performance conversations and a culture of accountability and professionalism
* Strengthen relationships with Legal, Operations and senior stakeholders through credible, clear and considered communication
* Improve reporting, workflow visibility and management oversight

* Demonstrated experience leading complex operational teams in regulated, customer-facing or claims-based environments
* Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently and professionally at senior and executive level
* Proven experience leading teams through structural change, consultation and transition
* Strong judgement, emotional intelligence and resilience, particularly in high-pressure or high-visibility environments
* Comfort working with legal, technical or policy-driven complexity
* A leadership style grounded in accountability, ownership and continuous improvement
