About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced leading hand to join our team in a full-time capacity. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising service teams on customer sites, completing belt installation, splicing, conveyor inspections, mechanical maintenance, operation, and maintenance of belt handling equipment.
Responsibilities
* Liaise with clients to scope, quote, and secure conveyor maintenance works
* Work with all areas of the business to plan, transport, mobilise and safely execute the works on site
* Set teams up for success through effective labour and equipment planning and assist onsite supervisors/team to manage any challenges, celebrate wins and close out work correctly
* Safe supervision of service teams on customer sites while completing belt installation, splicing, conveyor inspections, mechanical maintenance, operation, and maintenance of belt handling equipment
* Be available to work with and respond to clients, employees and other stakeholders' queries or concerns, including stepping up into the supervisor role in their absence
* Respond to any breakdown on customer sites as required
* Complete general conveyor maintenance tasks, reports and inspections on conveyor belts and associated components
* Scope upcoming work requirements and provide methodologies, procedures and support where required
* Attend all meetings and clearly communicate expectations and requirements of the job scope to the team
* Manage multiple competing priorities while remaining flexible and resilient to changes and constant demands in a fast-paced environment
Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
* A minimum 5 years experience as a conveyor or fixed plant maintenance technician with competency across rollers, skirts, scrapers, pulleys, tracking, and other conveyor components
* Splicing, repairs, belt change-outs, inserts, re-splices, equipment operation, and shutdown preparation experience is desirable
* Previous leading hand experience is essential, including knowledge of shutdown planning, reading, and manipulating Gantts, and coordinating multiple work fronts
* Understanding of broader conveyor system operations and the ability to support decision-making with practical technical insight
* Strong leadership presence with the ability to engage, guide and influence teams onsite
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management, including daily interaction with the client
* A proactive and accountable approach to safety, ensuring compliance and promoting a speak-up culture
* High-level organisation and planning capability to ensure smooth execution of daily activities
* A customer-focused mindset, ensuring a strong, reliable, and professional onsite presence
* The ability to coordinate multiple work fronts, troubleshoot issues and support operational decision-making
* Commitment to continuous improvement and identification of efficiencies or process enhancements
