About the role:
The Fabrication Leading Hand will play a crucial role in the assembly, installation, and maintenance of underground mining equipment and related systems. This role requires expertise in welding, cutting, and metalwork, and involves working with various types of metals and materials to ensure that these systems operate safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
The Fabrication Leading Hand will be responsible for:
• Ensuring all work carried out is performed in a safe manner.
• Assigning tasks and projects to team members based on skill level and workload.
• Ensuring that work is completed according to the specifications, safety standards, and deadlines.
• Demonstrated experience in boiler making, welding and fabrication within a workshop environment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and engineering drawings.
• Collaborating with other departments or teams to schedule maintenance and repairs without disrupting production.
• Keeping accurate records of work performed, including maintenance schedules and equipment history.
• Identifying opportunities to process improvements and efficiency gains.
• Exposure to industrial, mining and oil & gas industries is highly desirable.
About You:
• Relevant Trade Qualification or Degree Qualified.
• Heavy Industrial and/or Underground Mining Experience.
• HRWL - Forklift and Dogman ticket (desirable)
• RIIHAN305D (Operate a gantry or overhead crane) (desirable)
• Strong communication skills.
