Role Overview:
Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Civil Project Engineer to join their team on a major demolition/closure project in the Northern Territory. This position is based on a 2:1 FIFO roster, with flights out of any major city and a 10.5-hour workday.
You will assist the Senior Project Engineer in coordinating and managing detailed design and engineering consultant packages for enabling works, civil, and earthworks. Additionally, you will serve as the primary interface with contractors during the construction phase.
You will also support internal review, governance, and quality assurance processes for engineering deliverables. The role will focus on remediation packages within the closure project, including transitional and final landform redesign.
Collaboration with environmental engineering and revegetation teams will be key. Candidates with experience working alongside environmental teams are highly encouraged, though those eager to learn are also welcome to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
* Report to the Senior Project Engineer.
* Coordinate with the environmental and revegetation lead.
* Manage civil components of external engineering consultant contracts to meet project objectives.
* Coordinate with civil contractors during execution to ensure compliance with designs.
* Maintain a positive safety culture and meet safety KPIs with contractors.
* Uphold the values of our company's Governance systems.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
* 3-7 years of professional experience in civil project engineering, preferably in the mining sector.
* Ability to start immediately.
* Experience in developing project schedules, cost estimates, coordination, and managing contractor claims.
* Proven project management skills, with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
