Your clinical expertise, passion for education, and research will drive the Centre's mission to improve rural and remote health outcomesIn this pivotal role, you will lead the development of innovative allied health programs tailored to community needs, collaborating with healthcare professionals, academics, and stakeholders to improve access to care.With strong mentorship skills, you will guide future allied health practitioners while contributing to research that advances understanding and solutions for rural health challenges.QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEWith a recognised qualification in Occupation Therapy, relevant postgraduate credentials, and senior experience as an Occupational Therapist, you bring strong clinical expertise in community rehabilitation and/or paediatrics.
You also have a proven ability to teach, with experience working effectively in rural Queensland health professional education and health service environments.
This role requires expertise in project and program management, along with the ability to lead a small, geographically dispersed team while thriving in culturally diverse settings.ABOUT THE CENTRAL QUEENSLAND CENTRE FOR RURAL AND REMOTE HEALTHThe James Cook University Central Queensland Centre for Rural and Remote Health (CQCRRH) in Emerald is part of a national network of 16 University Departments of Rural Health, funded through the Rural Health Multidisciplinary Training program as a workforce initiative.This newly established centre aims to enhance clinical placements by embedding students within practices, services, organizations, and communities, with a strong focus on engaging with Indigenous communities.ABOUT EMERALDEmerald, the economic heart of the Central Highlands, is a vibrant hub for rural health, education, and business.
