About the role
The Geospatial Information Lead plays a pivotal role in driving the Spatial WA 'Infrastructure Projects and Assets' use case, working across the Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure (DTMI) portfolio and partner agencies to ensure the Advanced Spatial Digital Twin (ASDT) platform meets organisational needs. This role oversees the development of geospatial standards, systems and governance at the PTA, ensuring geospatial information is captured, managed and applied consistently to support infrastructure planning, asset management and operational decision‐making. You will provide strategic leadership across geospatial initiatives, coordinating activities organisation‐wide to enable safe, reliable and data‐driven public transport outcomes. This position also leads major geospatial improvement projects, drives innovation, and advises on emerging technologies and industry developments. You will guide geospatial strategy, enhance data accessibility and utilisation, and build strong internal and external stakeholder relationships, including representation on committees and working groups. As the Spatial WA Use Case Lead, you will define business requirements, influence executive stakeholders, oversee benefits realisation, and champion the adoption of digital engineering and spatial data to modernise systems and processes across the PTA and broader DTMI portfolio.
About You!
To excel in this role, you should possess:
* Demonstrated experience as a strategic planner, preferably within a transport or asset‐based organisation, with strong applied GIS capability to inform and guide the Spatial WA 'Infrastructure Projects and Assets' Use Case
* Proven ability to provide strategic leadership across geospatial strategies, standards and improvement initiatives, with experience delivering complex transformation projects involving significant change management. Able to lead diverse teams, manage resources effectively, and mentor, motivate and coach others.
* Highly developed written, verbal and interpersonal communication abilities, including negotiation, consultation and problem‐resolution skills. Demonstrated capacity to build collaborative relationships and contribute effectively within team environments to achieve business outcomes.
* Strong conceptual, analytical and problem‐solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative solutions to address business system and geospatial‐related challenges.
