Train Assembly Technician – Mechanical or Electrical - CAF Rail Australia - Dubbo
Trust in Motion. We are seeking a Train Assembly Technician - Mechanical reporting to the Train Assembly Team Leader within the Mindyarra Maintenance Centre in Dubbo. The role is responsible for vehicle assembly and fitting components in various stages of assembly on the production line.
Responsibilities
Follows specifications and other instructions and procedures to accurately assemble components on the production line using a variety of tools and equipment, including mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, and fitting safety-critical parts.
Support quality, productivity and process improvement initiatives. Carry out lean production activities.
Record and report faults to relevant areas of production. Perform work quality checks to ensure product meets quality and safety standards.
Maintain a clean, well-organised safe work area in line with Company housekeeping processes.
Maintain all equipment according to maintenance plans and procedures.
Carry out problem solving and troubleshooting as part of a team responsible for continuous improvement to products and processes. Lead the team that performs a wide variety of assembly tasks using machinery and hand tools on the production line.
Undertake training relevant to the role and across teams to provide resource/skills and support/work in other areas as necessary.
Train and mentor others on process and job role requirements.
Adhere to risk assessments and Health & Safety regulations.
Ensure all records (manual and digital) are completed correctly and on time.
Carry out routine daily maintenance and safety checks.
Proactively seek process improvements and efficiency savings, and recommend to line manager where improvements can be made or costs reduced.
Profile / Qualifications
Have at least 2 years' experience in similar or related roles.
Possess a tertiary qualification relevant to the position, such as certified accreditation in Mechanical or Electrical field; or workplace experience in relevant industries (Engineering, Automotive, Rail Construction, Manufacturing, Agriculture, Electrical/Electronics, Construction, Civil construction).
Experience with office management software (MS Office, particularly MS Excel and MS Word).

As part of the Regional Rail project, the Mindyarra Maintenance Centre in Dubbo will receive a new team for train completion works (Manufacturing, Testing and Quality activities), with potential transition to Warranty & Maintenance teams in the future.
