The Role
I'm currently looking for a heavy-hitting Senior Business Analyst who specialises in Process Engineering to join a fast-paced financial services firm. This isn't your typical "sit in the corner and write requirements" BA role. This is a high-visibility, high-impact position designed for someone who wants to take a "blank sheet" environment and build a gold-standard operational framework.
The business is growing rapidly, but the documentation hasn't kept pace. We need a self-starter who can walk into various divisions, identify the "tribal knowledge" keeping things afloat, and formalise it into streamlined, efficient workflows.
What you'll actually be doing
1. Process Mapping from Scratch: Since there isn't much currently documented, you'll be leading the charge in discovering, documenting, and "owning" the end-to-end business processes.
2. Process Engineering & Optimisation: Using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies to identify bottlenecks and redundant steps. You won't just document the "As-Is"—you will design and pitch the "To-Be."
3. Challenging the Status Quo: You'll need to "ruffle a few feathers." We need someone who isn't afraid to look a Department Head in the eye and explain why their 10-year-old manual process is holding the business back.
4. Driving Efficiency: Your success will be measured by tangible outputs: reduced turnaround times, lower error rates, and better resource allocation across the firm.
5. Advisory & Influence: Serving as a subject matter expert to the executive team on how we can use process automation and better workflow design to scale the business.
Who you are
6. A Process Specialist: You likely come from a Process Engineering or heavy Operational Design background. You think in flows, logic gates, and efficiency metrics.
7. FS Experience: You understand the constraints of a regulated environment. You know how to balance "speed and efficiency" with "compliance and audit trails."
8. Resilient & Assertive: You're comfortable with ambiguity and even more comfortable with resistance. You have the soft skills to manage stakeholders, but the backbone to push through necessary changes.
Why this role is different
9. Visibility: You'll be reporting into senior leadership; your work will be the blueprint for how this company operates for the next five years.
10. Autonomy: No micro-management here. You'll be expected to set your own agenda and decide which areas of the business need the most urgent "surgery."
11. The Challenge: If you hate red tape and love building things from the ground up, this is the perfect project.
The Essentials
12. Significant experience as a Senior BA or Process Engineer within Financial Services (Insurance, Banking, or Wealth Management).
13. Proven track record of streamlining workflows that resulted in measurable ROI or efficiency gains.
14. A "hunter" mindset for finding inefficiencies—you don't wait to be told where the problems are.
15. Exceptional communication skills; you can simplify complex technical processes for any audience.
