As the Principal Health and Safety Advisor, you will provide professional and high-level technical expertise that enables the implementation of effective Health and Safety management plans for the Department of Health divisions. You will work in collaboration with another Principal Health and Safety Advisor and lead one of two teams of Senior Health and Safety Advisors to guide the development and tactical implementation of:
* work health and safety programs
* health and safety assurance framework
* consultation and communication framework
About you
We are searching for someone with:
* Highly developed technical skills and knowledge in a wide range of WHS hazards, including risk management, with a record of effective application across a large, client focused, high performing, diverse workforce and geographically dispersed organisation.
* High level ability to analyse, plan, and create innovative health, safety and wellbeing initiatives and to implement them within a complex and geographically dispersed organisation.
* High level interpersonal, problem solving, negotiation, presentation and client and team relationship management skills, including the ability to develop and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships.
* Enthusiastic and solution focused with the natural ability to execute cultural change and promote a positive and inclusive work environment.
* In this role you may be infrequently subject to disturbing circumstances and material which could lead to vicarious trauma. This may be through talking with other employees who have had direct contact with such material or situations; incident reports and investigations and/or visits to client locations.
