Health Economist/Biostatistician Role

This opportunity is for a Health Economist/Biostatistician to undertake an in-depth review of the current operating theatre productivity index (OTPI) and make recommendations for its improvement.

As part of this role, you will develop a comprehensive plan to review the OTPI, identifying key milestones, deliverables, and timeframes. You will also work closely with the Data Analytics team and the Preserving and Restoring through Interventions in Surgery and Medicine (PRISM) directorate staff to validate the concept and methodology of the existing productivity measurement method and propose amendments.

The successful candidate will have high level analytical skills, including experience with data manipulation and complex analyses using multiple data sources. Familiarity with R or SAS would be desirable.

You will also need to demonstrate a high level understanding of NSW Health data, particularly National Weighted Activity Units (NWAU). Additionally, you should be able to communicate effectively with various stakeholders and manage competing priorities.

The position is temporary, funded for 6 months, and requires full working rights in Australia. COVID-19 vaccination compliance is also required.


Key Responsibilities:
