Job Title: Surety Underwriter Position
As a Surety Underwriter, you will be part of the team providing surety bonds for mid-market and large public and privately-owned companies. This role involves providing technical support to underwriters by analyzing financial models and credit risks. You will also keep the team up-to-date with market and industry risk news.
Key Responsibilities:
* Monitor and analyze credit risks, interpreting financial statements and identifying key risks/drivers of companies & industries.
* Prepare credit reports and meeting recommendations for review by Senior Underwriter, Surety and Head of Surety– Asia Pacific.
* Assist in the review and negotiation of indemnity documentation and bond wordings.
* Execute bonds in Australia and arrange for issuance of bonds in other territories as required.
* Maintain accurate records and files within underwriting guidelines.
Requirements and Qualifications:
* 7+ years business experience in banking / financial / insurance / credit industry is preferred.
* Degree (or equivalent) in Business, Commerce, Finance is essential.
* Professional qualification such as CPA, CFA or CA will be highly regarded.
