Join our team as a BI Support Consultant, where you'll own and manage our IBM Cognos Analytics platform from the operating system up. This is not a report-development or dashboard-design role – it's a hands‐on technical position focused on performance, reliability and security.
Where you'd be working:
Our Support Consultants work in our Melbourne office as part of our Victorian Branch.
What you'd be doing (your day will look like this):
You will be responsible for administering and diagnosing issues within the Cognos platform and its supporting infrastructure, including Linux servers, email relays and database connectivity. Your day-to-day will involve:
* Managing a containerised BI platform
* Administering, patching, and performance-tuning IBM Cognos Analytics on Linux (RHEL).
* Troubleshooting email notification processes inside Cognos.
* Managing Cognos content store databases (SQL Server, Informix) – backups, reorganizations, connectivity.
* Linux server administration and basic shell scripting for automation and monitoring.
* Troubleshooting Java applications (heap dumps, logs).
* Working with networking components (firewalls, basic networking and authentication).
