Use your expertise in policy, governance, and insurance to shape strategy, strengthen risk management, and build a robust incident response framework.
* Work with senior leadership and the Board to drive real change.
* Newcastle-based with WFH Options.
* Oversee insurance placements and supplier relationships, ensuring the organisation is well-protected.
YOUR NEW EMPLOYER
Newcastle Anglican is a pillar of the Greater Hunter and Central Coast communities, employing over 2,500 people across aged care, education, community services, property, and fleet operations. Their mission is to support and uplift the lives of children, families, and vulnerable individuals, and the bar is set high when it comes to safeguarding and accountability.
They're not just looking for a compliance box-ticker. They're looking for someone who can shape the future of risk strategy, protect the organisation, and most importantly, safeguard the people they serve.
YOUR NEW ROLE
As Risk and Compliance Manager, you will lead a team of five and help define how the organisation thinks about, plans for, and responds to risk. Reporting to the Executive Director Quality & Risk, you will work hand-in-hand with the executive team and the Board, providing trusted advice and leading strategic initiatives that elevate risk maturity across the business.
* You will be across insurance strategy, working with brokers on renewals, placements, and claims, and making sure the organisation is properly covered across all its services.
* On the governance and compliance side, you will help strengthen the frameworks already in place and make sure they align with legislation and support decision-making from the front line to the Boardroom.
* There’s also a big focus on policy oversight. From child safety and aged care through to WHS, you will keep things up to date, consistent, and practical for people on the ground to follow.
* And when it comes to incident response, you will be the one pulling together a clear and fit-for-purpose approach, making sure the right people know what to do when something goes wrong, and that there’s structure behind it.
ABOUT YOU
* Tertiary qualifications with risk management, legal or commercial background.
* Proven experience leading and implementing a risk and compliance function.
* Strong influencing and negotiation skills with high levels of commerciality and pragmatism.
* Ability to develop and lead a team while mentoring and driving continuous improvement.
* Experience reviewing and enhancing policies, procedures, and systems.
* Capability to translate strategic objectives into operational deliverables.
