Where you'll be working
The Sutherland Hospital and Community Health Service is located in the Sutherland Shire (the Shire), approximately half an hour drive south of Sydney, in Caringbah. The Sutherland Hospital is a major metropolitan hospital and teaching hospital with the motto "Endeavour to Serve". We offer a comprehensive range of inpatient and outpatient services, with 375 beds and more than 50,000 patients in our Emergency Department each year, plus around 28,000 admissions annually.
The role
The Human Resources Consultant provides customer service, administrative and Human Resources support to enable high-level, detailed advice, guidance and support in People and Culture processes and business functions. The role contributes to the development and implementation of People & Culture initiatives to address people management issues and achieve the goals of the People and Culture Strategy.

Selection Criteria
- Sound knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements relating to HR management and industrial/employee relations, with ability to provide practical advice on People & Culture matters.
- Ability to identify significant People & Culture issues and communicate business implications/risks; contribute to policies, strategies and initiatives.
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resource Management, Commerce/Business, Psychology or equivalent experience; or a combination of study and work experience.
- Ability to work independently, manage workload, and meet deadlines.
- Robust interpersonal and stakeholder consultation skills, including management, staff, industrial organisations and external agencies.
- Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to prepare briefs, reports and submissions.
- Ability to use data to provide insights and support decision-making in people management solutions and continuous improvements.
- Willingness to travel within the District as required.
