About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Financial Counsellor, your primary responsibility will be to undertake work of significant complexity that requires professional judgement relevant to VincentCare's Financial Wellbeing and Capability activities, in particular, providing safe, inclusive, culturally appropriate, timely and accessible financial counselling and financial capability services.
As an accredited Financial Counsellor, you will have specific knowledge about the credit, bankruptcy and debt collection laws, concession frameworks and industry hardship practices. You will be expected to provide direct case work in either in-office, outreach or via phone and support clients by prioritising debt; accessing hardship variations; advocating and negotiating with creditors; lodging disputes both within internal and/or external dispute resolution practices; making relevant referrals to other services; and administering emergency relief (if applicable).
Qualifications
* Diploma in Community Services (Financial Counselling)
* Member of (or eligible for membership with) Financial Counselling Victoria (FCVic)
* Valid Victorian Driver Licence
