Are You the Right Fit?
* Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail, ensuring timely and high‑quality coding of inpatient episodes in line with Australian Coding Standards
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, able to identify documentation gaps, resolve discrepancies, and maintain data integrity
* Confidence using digital systems, including Microsoft Office, Patient Administration Systems, eMR, and coding software such as 3M Encoder
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, collaborating effectively with auditors and coding teams to clarify clinical information and ensure coding accuracy
* Ability to manage workload independently, set priorities, and meet coding throughput and accuracy targets within required timeframes
* Commitment to ethical coding practice, maintaining confidentiality, privacy, and compliance with NSW Health policies and WHS responsibilities
* A growth mindset, staying updated with coding standards, participating in education programs, and adapting to changes in coding rules and clinical documentation requirements
Selection Criteria
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.
* Completion of a recognised ICD-10-AM coding course or relevant Tertiary Qualifications in Health Information Management (with a clinical coding component).
* Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office applications.
* Experience using Patient Administration Systems, electronic medical record systems and coding software.
* Demonstrated detailed understanding of DRG assignment and the relationship between Clinical Coding and Activity Based Funding.
* Demonstrated attention to detail and proven ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.
* Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team environment.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Demonstrated understanding of privacy and confidentiality.
Shortlisted candidates will be required to complete a two‑hour coding assessment prior to interview.
