What is the role?
The AFP is looking for motivated individuals ready to launch themselves into an agile and fast paced career. The Intelligence and Covert Services (ICS) command is seeking individuals with the aptitude and desire to become the intelligence, data and public safety, and policing coordination members of the future across the command in a variety of roles.
ICS offers a broad and rewarding career through a variety of exciting roles in our operational areas; Intelligence Operations, National Operations Coordination, Covert and Technical Operations, and Human Intelligence.
Job opportunities will expose you to police communications and situational awareness, intelligence and dissemination, information gathering, covert analysis and witness protection, human intelligence, digital collection, data processing, and specialist electronic services. Members will be supported to evolve into the analysts, technologists and support officers of an operational frontline command ready for the future.

Intelligence (Intelligence Officer)
Plan, collect, collate, analyse and disseminate intelligence, including during police operations.
Use your written and verbal skills to brief intelligence consumers.
Undertake intelligence and information management and administrative tasks.
Identify and interpret information and data obtained in an ethical manner, which is then used to inform assessments and reach conclusions to meet a specified user requirement.
Work collaboratively within the immediate team environment, as well as with other members in the AFP and the broader intelligence community.
Maintain knowledge and understanding of the intelligence environment.
Applicants will have the ability to demonstrate contemporary experience in an intelligence role or a sound understanding of the role of intelligence in law enforcement. AFP Intelligence Operations offers diverse roles delivering tactical, operational and strategic intelligence, with opportunities for national and international deployments.
Covert Analysis & Assurance (Monitor)
Work as part of a team in achieving individual and team outputs through demonstrated analytical, communication and organisational skills.
Timely monitoring of telecommunications interception (TI) product.
Provide summaries of TI product in a clear, concise and appropriate manner, highlight the relevant points.
Identify and communicate operationally relevant information to a Senior Monitor or Team Leader.
Utilise AFP and computer-based information systems to interrogate, input, collate, and retrieve data for operational support.
Undertake a range of operational support tasks, including team administrative duties when required.
Work on a Rostered Operations shift pattern, as per Section 20 of the AFP Enterprise Agreement 2017-2020.
Applicants who demonstrate appropriate skills and experience may be considered for embedment in various operational positions including Major Incident Rooms and/or Enduring Risk Investigations.
National Operations State Service Centre (Watch Floor)
Provide radio and telecommunication support to frontline policing and protective service.
