The Opportunity
This is not a "manage what exists" role. This is a build, scale, and lead opportunity.
You’ll take full ownership of Athlead’s performance, from strategy and partnerships through to operations and delivery, with the support of an established backend.

What You’ll Be Responsible For
Driving Growth & Market Presence
* Own the growth strategy and execution for Athlead
* Expand into key markets: sporting clubs, schools, and associations
* Identify and secure high‑value, long‑term partnerships
* Position Athlead as a leading brand in the sports and education space
Building & Managing Relationships
* Develop strong connections with key decision‑makers
* Grow accounts by expanding into new products and opportunities
* Create long‑term partnerships, not one‑off transactions
Leading the Team
* Lead a small, high‑performing team across local and offshore functions
* Set clear expectations, priorities, and accountability
* Drive a culture focused on outcomes, ownership, and performance
Owning Operations & Delivery
* Oversee product development and production processes
* Work closely with offshore suppliers and manufacturing partners
* Ensure timelines, quality, and consistency are delivered every time
* Continuously improve systems and workflows to support growth
Leveraging Systems & Infrastructure
* Operate within our internal system to manage end‑to‑end workflows
* Oversee quoting, ordering, production, and client portal functionality
* Optimise processes for scalability and efficiency
Delivering Commercial Results
* Drive revenue growth and profitability
* Monitor performance and identify opportunities to improve margins
* Contribute to forecasting, planning, and strategic decision‑making
What We’re Looking For
You’re not just experienced – you’re driven.
* Proven ability to grow a business, division, or portfolio
* Strong background in business development, partnerships, or general management
* Commercially minded with a focus on results and accountability
* Highly comfortable with systems and technology – experience working with CRMs, ERPs, or operational platforms
* Confident leading teams and managing multiple moving parts
* Strong relationship builder – you know how to win and retain clients
* Experience in apparel, merchandise, sport, or education sectors is highly regarded

Location
This is a flexible role, open to both Canberra‑based and interstate candidates.
While we offer remote flexibility, this is a senior leadership position and will require regular in‑person time for planning, collaboration, and key initiatives.
For Canberra‑based candidates, this will include time in the office.
For interstate candidates (e.g. Sydney), this may involve periodic travel to Canberra.
Flexibility will ultimately reflect the experience, capability, and performance of the successful candidate.
