đź’Ş Are You a Strong, Grounded, and Experienced Male Support Worker?

We are urgently seeking a highly capable and confident male Disability or Youth Support Worker to join our trauma-informed team in Golden Grove, SA. This role is not for the faint of heart—it requires someone with the strength, patience, and professional skill to support a complex young person (YP) with challenging behaviors and high medical needs.

You’ll play a crucial role in the life of a young male client who is navigating severe behavioral challenges and multiple diagnoses. The right candidate will not only have experience—but a heart for restoring trust, building connection, and providing safe structure.

⚠️Client Overview

You’ll be supporting a complex male youth with a range of behavioral, developmental, and emotional needs.

đź§  Medical Conditions Include:

•Intellectual Disability

•Autism Spectrum Disorder – Level 3

•ADHD

🔥 Behavioral Challenges:

•Absconding

•Threatening and intimidating behavior

•Physical aggression

•Verbal aggression

âś… Key Responsibilities

•Provide safe and consistent daily structure to a complex young person

•Implement strategies to manage and de-escalate behavioral episodes

•Support with personal care, meal prep, and medication compliance

•Facilitate community access (e.g., walks, outings, structured programs)

•Maintain thorough and professional documentation

•Be a reliable, steady role model—capable of building trust

•Follow tailored Behavior Support Plans and work closely with clinical and care teams

👤 Who We're Looking For

We’re searching for a strong male support worker who is trauma-informed, boundary-conscious, and confident in working with complex, high-intensity clients.

📌 Required Experience and Attributes:

•Minimum 2 years experience with high-intensity behaviors

•Proven success working with young people (YPs) in disability or residential care

•Very strong verbal and written English communication skills

•Physically fit and capable of participating in active, high-energy routines

•Experienced in de-escalation and behavior regulation

•Emotionally resilient and naturally calm in crises

•Demonstrated experience in trauma-informed practice

🎓 Essential Qualifications & Training

•Certificate III or IV in Disability, Youth Work, or Individual Support

•NDIS Worker Screening Check

•Employee Working with Children Check (SA)

•National Police Check (within 12 months)

•Current First Aid & CPR

•Valid Australian Driver’s License + reliable, insured vehicle

•CPI (Crisis Prevention & Intervention) training (preferred)

•Trauma-Informed Care Training

•Understanding of complex diagnosis support models
