The Opportunity
Join a supportive and forward-thinking digital team responsible for maintaining and enhancing the applications that enable essential public services. As a Senior Application Administrator, you will provide expert technical support, manage upgrades, and ensure our key business systems remain reliable, secure, and continually improving.
Working closely with business areas, vendors, and ICT specialists, you will troubleshoot complex issues, support enhancement projects, and contribute to ongoing modernisation initiatives. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and taking ownership of outcomes in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain and support key departmental applications to ensure availability and performance.
* Coordinate system upgrades, patches, and enhancements with internal teams and vendors.
* Investigate and resolve complex technical issues, contributing to incident management and root-cause analysis.
* Work with stakeholders to understand business needs and support continuous improvement.
* Provide guidance to less experienced staff and promote best practice in application support.

About You
You are an adaptable and solutions-focused ICT professional with experience supporting and administering enterprise applications. You bring strong technical capability, sound judgement, and the ability to work independently while building positive relationships across the organisation.
You will have experience in several (not necessarily all) of the following areas:
* Application or systems administration
* NET, C#, JavaScript or similar frameworks
* Cloud platforms such as AWS
* Oracle or other SQL-based database environments
* IIS, Tomcat, or other web/application servers
* Enterprise platforms such as Appian, Atlassian products, or records management systems
You communicate clearly, manage competing priorities effectively, and take initiative to improve the systems and services you support.

Educational Qualifications
* Formal qualifications in IT related discipline.
Special Conditions
* A National Police Check (NPC) is required prior to employment in the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.
* Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.
