The North Freo Bowlo is at an exciting stage of growth, and we are looking for a part-time food and beverage manager to join us and help us grow the food & beverage operation through developing a consistent offering, marketing activities and volunteer co-ordination. This is the perfect role for anyone looking to add additional hours to their working week, start their management career or take a step from a full management role.
Casual 10-20 hours per week until May, with the opportunity to extend as the club grows.
Must be available Friday afternoons and evenings, and be flexible for functions across the week during our busy season.
Your Responsibilities:
* Compliance: follow policies and systems to ensure the club is safe, running smoothly and compliant with all legal requirements. Undertake the responsibilities of an Approved Manager and ensure compliance with all licensing requirements.
* Health & Safety: Follow all health and safety procedures to contribute to a safe working environment. Take corrective/preventative action and report any WHS issues to the club manager.
* Cleaning: Implement processes to ensure food health and safety requirements are met. This includes ensuring a high level of cleanliness across the bar, floor and kitchen service areas.
* Menu development: Develop and deliver a simple beverage menu that provides affordable options to the community. Work with the chef one evening a week to ensure the club offers affordable and healthy options to the community. Develop a simple food offering that can be delivered by front of house staff in the absence of the chef.
* Menu printing and item advertising: Keep physical menus up to date. Advertise specials or individual products to encourage consumer spending.
* Financial performance: Ensure beverage menus are costed, and adjust product offers if target margins are not met. Develop initiatives and marketing opportunities to maximise food and beverage sales. Perform till opening and closing procedures. Undertake stock take and implement methods to minimise wastage and loss of stock.
* Customer service: Provide service with a smile, handle enquiries, feedback and complaints. This extends to running functions and ensuring the venue is well presented, and the games are organised and ready for hire.
* Staff and volunteers: Recruit, manage, train, roster a small team including volunteers ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
* Marketing: Undertake marketing activities to advertise the clubs offerings and increase turnover.
What You'll Bring:
* At least 2 years experience as a supervisor or duty manager in a food and beverage or club venue.
* Community minded and team player: You are friendly and collaborative and dedicated to creating a respectful and inclusive environment.
* Certification: You will need a Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate, Approved Manager Certificate, First Aid Certificate, National Police Certificate and Working with Children Check. (Can be achieved subsequent to role acceptance.)
