I joined Townsville Airport for a 3-month maternity relief position and 7 years later I am still enjoying the positive work environment. What you’ll contribute to:
As the Senior Advisor – Environment (Projects), you will play a critical role in supporting QAL’s capital works and infrastructure programs by providing expert environmental advice across the full project lifecycle.
You will contribute to:
* The successful planning and delivery of major infrastructure and development projects
* Ensuring environmental approvals, compliance and risk management requirements are met
* Embedding environmentally responsible practices into project delivery
* Strengthening QAL’s environmental governance, systems and performance outcomes for major infrastructure projects
Working closely with project teams, consultants, regulators and internal stakeholders, you’ll help ensure environmental considerations are integrated early and effectively into decision‑making.
How will you make an impact?
In this role, you will:
* Provide specialist environmental advice to project managers to support planning, design, construction and delivery activities
* Lead and manage environmental approvals, licences and permits for complex projects
* Identify, assess and manage environmental risks and compliance obligations across project portfolios
* Review technical reports, environmental management plans and contractor documentation
* Support contractor performance through audits, inspections and continuous improvement initiatives
* Build strong relationships with regulators and internal stakeholders to support project outcomes
* Contribute to continuous improvement of environmental systems and frameworks
Your expertise will help ensure QAL delivers projects that are compliant, environmentally sound and aligned with community and regulatory expectations.
