Join to apply for the Postdoctoral Research Associate role at University of Sydney
The School of Medical Sciences (SOMS) are welcoming applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Biomaterial to join the team and explore how biomaterials with varying physical and mechanical properties drive the phenotypic and functional responses of regenerative stem cells.
The successful candidate will be working under the supervision of A/Prof Khoon Lim. Work will be conducted in the Charles Perkins Centre at the University of Sydney, a multidisciplinary research centre which aims to generate innovative solutions to combat global health challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- perform research, both independently and as part of a team, to characterise cell functions in response to novel biomaterials
- drive and contribute to original research, review papers, and conference presentations
- participate in regular project meetings with supervisors and research teams
- support the training and supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate research students
- support general laboratory operations, including managing inventories and addressing WHS requirements
About You:
- a PhD in cell biology, molecular biology, biomedical engineering, biotechnology, biomaterials or a related area
- a robust track record of publishing research in high-impact journals
- demonstrated proficiency in cell and molecular techniques, including: stem cell culture (including mesenchymal stromal cells), functional differentiation assays, proteomic analysis (including secretome analysis), small animal studies, flow cytometry, quantitative RT-PCR, Western blotting, ELISA, immunohistochemistry, fluorescence and confocal microscopy
