About the role
We are seeking a Multiple Mechanical Engineer with a passion for entrepreneurship and design, and a desire to create great new products and services, and get them to market.
As a Mechanical Engineer with IDE you will be engaged in all aspects of Medical Device product development from defining design inputs (user needs, product requirements, risk management), to concept development (brainstorm, design, build and test), to detailed design (feature definition, tolerance stacks), to product testing (verification, validation).
You will be assigned to between 1 and 3 projects at a time that may be completed anywhere between 3 and 36 months, on products as diverse as CT injectors, CPAP masks, safety syringes and automated production systems.
You will need to work within a cross functional team of clinicians, marketers, project managers, researchers and other engineers to create valuable products within time and budget constraints.

About you
Desired Skills and Experience
A degree in Mechanical Engineering, or similar applicable technical discipline
Proficient with core software tools including: Microsoft Office suite ( Powerpoint & Project), CAD software (preferably Solidworks and/or Creo/Pro-E)
A number of years' experience working in new product development of mechanical or electromechanical systems for mid to high volume manufacture in the medical device industry
Experience in leading the design or product sub-systems, identifying and mitigating risks
Proficient in the creation of prototypes to showcase product features and development of tests to objectively evaluate those features against requirements
Proficient in communicating the objectives of assigned tasks, and being able to justify the chosen engineering approach
Leading a team (two or more) of technical resources through product development
Experience in new product development under design controls as specified by a Quality Management System (ISO9001, ISO13485, GMP or similar) Why IDE
