The Australian American Leadership Dialogue (AALD) is a track 1.5 private diplomatic initiative, which brings together Australian and American Leaders fromgovernment, defence, security, cyber, industry, space, technology, media, education, and thecommunityto help review and refine the parameters of the AustralianAmerican bilateral relationship.
About the Young Leadership Dialogue Program
The Young Leadership Dialogue (YLD) is a two-year bilateral program that brings together an outstanding group of young leadersfrom Australia and the United States to discuss areas of mutual interest and strategic importance, advancing understanding and cooperation between our two nations.It has been globally recognised as a tier-one leadership program providing delegates with a unique opportunity to engage with a broad peer group to broaden and strengthen the Australian American relationship.
About the Role
As Program and Events Manager for theYoung Leadership Dialogue (YLD), you willmanage theday-to-day operations of the Young Leadership Dialogue (YLD) program and events, providing high-level event,administration,and business coordination to ensure the smooth delivery of the program and its eventsthroughout the year.
You will organise and execute in-person events in Australia and the United States,as well ascoordinatevirtual eventsthroughout the calendar year.
This is afull-timematernity coverposition,suited to someone with excellent events,administration,communication,coordination, systems, and stakeholder skills – ideally with experience inagovernmentor corporateevents' sectorrole.
Key Attributes and Responsibilities
We areseekinga highly organised and self-motivated Events and Program Manager to coordinate and deliver complex, multi-tiered programs. The role requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, a proactive and can-do approach, strong attention to detail, and the ability to confidently manage multiple priorities and deadlines. The successful candidate will bring strong people skills, enjoy working collaboratively within a small and supportive team, and be comfortable operating across digital platforms and tools.
Skills and Experience
* Demonstrated experience in event and program management, including the delivery ofmulti-stakeholderprograms andevents
* Proven project management experience, with the ability to plan, coordinate, and deliver eventsand programsto deadline
* Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with experience building andmaintainingrelationships with delegates, alumni, and stakeholders
* Proficiencyin event management and CRM platforms (EventsAir experience desirable but not essential)and the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
* Demonstrated fluency in using AI tools responsibly in the workplace to enhance productivity, analysis, and decision making
* Confidence learning and adapting to new systems and processes.
Travel
The Program and Events Manager-Young Leadership Dialogue maybe requiredto travel within Australia and to the United States. Frequent travel is not required.
