The role
We are on the search for a Planning Assistant to join us at our Head Office based in Kilsyth. Where no two days are the same, you will join a team that keeps Victoria moving and get a behind-the-scenes look at what's happening on our roads long before it hits the news. In this pivotal administrative role, you'll play a key part in keeping our operations running smoothly, supporting both our traffic controllers on the ground and major projects across Melbourne and regional Victoria. Expect variety, team work and a front row seat to the fast paced world of traffic management.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Assisting the Planning Manager with scheduling, planning and general administrative support.
* Answering and directing incoming calls and emails from clients, potential clients, traffic controllers, councils, utilities, and other stakeholders.
* Preparing and submitting council notifications, bus and council permits, and related documentation.
* Applying for MOA's and consents with relevant road authorities.
* Updating bookings and job details in our systems and ensuring information is accurate and up to date.
* Assisting with other planning and office tasks as required.

About you
You may come from a traffic control / traffic management background, or you might be an experienced administrator looking for a new challenge in a niche growing industry.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a professional phone manner.
* Strong attention to detail, accuracy and follow-through.
* Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize and work well under pressure and timeframes.
* A positive approach to change with the ability to adapt in a fast paced environment.
* Confident with technology and intermediate-advanced with computers.
* Willingness to learn about road authority standards, traffic control and planning if you don't have prior experience - Training will be provided*
* A genuine desire to grow with the role and contribute to the broader team.
A traffic control background is highly desirable but not essential for the right person with strong administration experience and a go-getter attitude.
