Auxiliary Firefighter Role
As an emergency service agency, we provide effective prevention, preparation, response and recovery activities across a range of emergency situations.
* We are seeking candidates who possess the following skills:
* Eligibility to apply for or hold a current Blue Card.
* Employer's written consent to attend incidents and emergencies (where applicable).
* Residence within a reasonable distance of auxiliary fire stations.
* Australian Permanent Resident Status.
* Manual C Class driver's licence.
The selected candidate will be required to:
* Attend incident and emergency calls.
* Maintain regular attendance at drills and training sessions.
* Obtain an MRV license within 12 months of employment.
* Participate in ongoing skills acquisition and maintenance programs.
* Comply with policies and procedures including code of conduct, safety and personal presentation standards.
This role requires:
* Responsiveness to fire and other emergency incidents.
* Promotion of community safety and emergency preparedness.
* Development and maintenance of competencies through regular drills and training courses.
* Operational specialist firefighting and rescue equipment.
* Maintenance and repair of operational equipment and station facilities.
* Incident reporting and general station administration.
