About the Role
You will lead, develop and manage a team of procurement and contracting professionals, driving innovative commercial outcomes across a wide range of roles, including:
* Providing leadership and direction for integrated and consistent procurement and contracting function.
* Managing procurement planning, tendering, contract formation and contract management activities, ensuring compliance with legislation, policies, processes and procedures.
* Accountable for managing and leading a team, providing clear communication, setting performance and behavioural standards, managing performance, delegating responsibility and guiding and developing people.
* Accountable for managing allocated resources, setting work area priorities, workflows, developing strategies and evaluating business outcomes.
This role is eligible for a premium remuneration benefit known as a Building Capability Payment (BCP), which enables the Australian Submarine Agency to provide a premium in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Enterprise Agreement.
About Our Team
The Commercial Branch is responsible for the procurement and contracting function, providing a wide range of commercial services to the Agency, including:
* Support throughout the procurement activity from identifying a need to contract execution and follow-up advice and support through contract management;
* Guidance, assurance and advice on procurement-related matters, including procurement policies and methods;
* Contract management activities guidance;
* Support and advice pertaining to probity matters, management, requirements and activities; and
* Liaising with specialised services where required, e.g., Defence Legal.
