This vital role ensures the smooth and accurate management of client bookkeeping, BAS, and payroll, helping our clients maintain strong financial foundations.This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, client-facing environment, has strong attention to detail, and can proactively manage multiple clients and competing priorities.
You will work closely with accountants and senior team members to ensure financial data is accurate and well-organised, supporting management reporting and CFO-level advice.Key ResponsibilitiesBookkeeping & Compliance : Manage client bookkeeping, reconciliations, and reporting exclusively using Xero.BAS & Payroll : Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS), process payroll, and ensure ATO compliance.Transactional Work : Process and review financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency, including reconciliations to trial balance to support management reporting and CFO-level advice.Xero File Setups & Maintenance : Set up and refine Xero files, including chart of accounts revisions, data clean-ups, and system optimisation for clients.Client Support & Proactive Engagement : Actively guide clients on next steps, ensuring smooth workflow transitions.Collaboration & Workflow Support : Work closely with tax accountants, business advisory accountants, and administrative staff to ensure smooth financial operations.Process Improvement : Identify inefficiencies in transactional accounting processes and propose solutions to improve efficiency.About YouMinimum 3+ years experience in a bookkeeping or transactional accounting role.Xero expertise (certification preferred) and a strong understanding of cloud-based accounting within the Xero ecosystem.Prior experience in BAS preparation, payroll processing, and financial reconciliations to trial balance.Strong attention to detail with the ability to juggle multiple clients and competing priorities while maintaining high-quality work.A proactive mindset, with the ability to anticipate client needs and ensure seamless handovers.Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with both clients and internal teams.Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.Exposure to working within an accounting firm or professional services environment is highly regarded.Remuneration80,000 - $90,000 + super (full time equivalent) in line with relevant experiencePerks and BenefitsJoin a supportive and friendly team.Work-life balance is a priority – we don't expect you to work beyond 5 pm.Ongoing training and professional development opportunities to expand your skillset.Enjoy flexible working arrangements, including the option to work from home after an initial in-office integration.Be part of a firm that values its people, with a culture of respect, growth, and client-focused excellence.Please include a cover letter with your CV to address your suitability for any parts of the advertised role that are not clearly obvious within your LinkedIn profile and / or CV.
