We are looking for an experienced CHPP Control Systems Engineer to support one of our Tier 1 mining clients. This is a key technical role within the CHPP, focused on ensuring the integrity, reliability, and performance of site control and automation systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure the performance, reliability, optimisation, and safety of CHPP control systems, including PLCs, AVEVA Plant SCADA, AVEVA Production Management (AMPLA), and PI Historian
* Monitor system performance and proactively diagnose and resolve control system faults to minimise downtime
* Optimise plant performance through control loop tuning and automation improvements
* Lead control system changes using structured change management processes
* Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualisation tools
* Maintain accurate control system documentation and operational databases
* Support shutdowns, commissioning, upgrades, and project-related activities
* Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, IT teams, and external vendors
* Provide training and technical support to site personnel
* Contribute to fault-finding, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives
What You'll Bring
* Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, or a related Engineering discipline
* Current Driver's Licence
* RIIRIS301 - Apply risk management processes (or equivalent)
* RIIWHS301 - Conduct safety and health investigations (or equivalent)
* RIICOM301 - Communicate information (or equivalent)
* Significant experience working in a mining environment
* Strong experience with PLC and SCADA systems, ideally Rockwell and AVEVA Plant SCADA (Citect)
* Demonstrated experience maintaining process control systems, including alarm philosophy and control coding standards
