Offer description

Overview

Contemporary Music School – Ardross, WA. Multiple Positions Available | Mid-March Start (New Premises!). $30–$42+ per hour (based on experience).

We're growing and seeking wonderful people to join our team. After 11 years in Winthrop, we're moving to a larger, purpose-designed studio in Ardross mid-March and currently have more student enquiries than we can fill. If you're looking for a studio that is organised, supportive, professional and genuinely fun to work in, keep reading.

Who We're Looking For

* We're looking for great people, not just great musicians.
* If you are kind, patient and a clear communicator.
* Reliable and punctual (you turn up early, not just on time).
* Creative and engaging in your teaching.
* Confident with beginners (most new students are school aged).
* Passionate about contemporary music (pop, rock, blues, metal, indie, etc.).

We are open to junior teachers (17+) who are talented musicians and ready to be trained and mentored, as well as experienced teachers seeking a stable, long-term position in a professional studio. Multiple roles available.

Pay & Growth

Your pay reflects your experience and commitment. We have different levels of pay for:

* Junior teachers (17+) needing training and mentoring
* Teachers with 2+ years teaching experience
* Senior teachers with extensive experience, strong retention, and long-term commitment

Most teachers build to a 4–5 hour shift with back-to-back students quickly due to high demand, particularly after school.

The Role

* Deliver engaging one-on-one guitar and/or ukulele lessons
* Teach mostly beginners and intermediate students (primary-aged, teen-aged and adult students)
* Build students from beginner to confident, capable musicians
* Write short lesson notes for students and families using our modern scheduling software
* Occasionally conduct Zoom lessons when required (e.g., if a student is unwell)
* Help students prepare for performances (during lesson time) and support them on stage at our annual student concert

You focus on teaching. We handle the rest.

What We Will Do For You

* We work hard to fill your schedule with great students and minimal gaps
* You're paid for no-shows
* All admin is handled for you, including trial lesson bookings and follow ups, enrolments, payments, scheduling, and student lesson reminders
* Automatic weekly pay
* Clean, spacious teaching rooms with natural light
* Modern systems so you can see student history, notes and schedules easily
* Paid involvement in our professionally run annual concert

We're known for keeping our teachers well supplied with chocolate at the end of term.

About Us

We are an established contemporary guitar and ukulele school with over 100 students per week and a team of professional, warm, down-to-earth teachers from various backgrounds and ages. Our students range from young beginners through to adults. We also run workshops, holiday programs and performance opportunities. We pride ourselves on being professional, structured and organised, while keeping the environment relaxed, fun and welcoming.

You'll Need

* Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain one)
* Reliable transport
* Strong time management
* Confidence teaching beginners
* Professional communication skills
* High vibe, friendly and positive personality
* Intermediate to advanced level guitar and/or ukulele playing ability (singing is a plus)
* Australian work rights

Music degree or formal qualifications are highly regarded, but strong real-world musicianship and teaching experience is equally valued.

How To Apply

Please submit:

* A cover letter outlining:
o Your musical background
o Your teaching experience
o Your availability and ideal workload
o Any transferable skills (admin, marketing, customer service, systems, etc.)
o A fun fact about yourself to give a sense of who you are
* Your resume

If you want to teach in a studio where your time is respected and you're treated like part of a team, we'd love to meet you. We're excited to welcome the right people into this next chapter.
