 
        
        Our client is seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Electronics Technician to support the manufacture, assembly, and commissioning of advanced control systems and prototype technology. Reporting to the Q-Si Project Manager / Senior Electronics Engineer, this role is crucial to the success of key deliverables across advanced laser isotope separation projects.
You will be responsible for the construction, testing, and documentation of electronics systems and will also play a key role in maintaining the laboratory environment and assisting in procurement activities. The primary focus is technical assembly and electrical work, with secondary responsibilities including documentation, lab upkeep, and design review participation.
Note: This position is subject to the successful candidate being eligible for an Australian Government security clearance and maintaining access to a secure site. Must have 10+ years of work history within Australia.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical and Mechanical Construction
 * Construct and wire control panels from schematics and diagrams.
 * Install and connect control cabinets and process equipment.
 * Perform field wiring for sensors, actuators, and other components.
Commissioning and Testing
 * Commission diagnostic and control systems.
 * Evaluate and document system performance.
Electronics and Lab Services
 * Assist with development and prototyping of electronic subsystems.
 * Support procurement and specification of lab and control equipment.
 * Maintain technical documentation and manage lab tools, equipment, and stores.
Design and Technical Support
 * Participate in design reviews and planning meetings.
 * Provide circuit design support and assist senior engineering staff as required.
General Duties
 * Contribute to installation of production infrastructure.
 * Support safety culture and maintain a clean, safe workspace.
 * Report progress, safety incidents, and assist with risk analysis activities.
What We're Looking For
Qualifications & Experience
 * Diploma in Electronics Engineering or equivalent technical experience.
 * 3+ years in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or R&D environment.
Technical Skills
 * Proficient in reading schematics and wiring diagrams.
 * Skilled in manual fabrication and soldering (through-hole & SMD).
 * Experienced in wiring, cable assembly, and basic mechanical construction.
 * Familiar with Microsoft Office and capable of maintaining accurate documentation.
