Tug Engineer Job Description
The primary objective of this role is to oversee the technical and mechanical aspects of tug vessel operations in Townsville. As a Tug Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that all engineering-related tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
* Direct control of all engineering aspects of the vessel's operations & maintenance.
* Maintain the vessel in accordance with regulations, AMSA and class certificates.
* Liaise with the Master regarding the condition of the vessel's propulsion & ancillary systems and ensure that all surveys are current and up to date.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be accountable for:
* Ensuring planned maintenance tasks are completed, and any other online/paper-based company system is updated when tasks have been carried out.
* Following safe working procedures, operating procedures and guidelines supporting a safe work environment and should be fully conversant with all Safety, Quality, Pollution Control and contingency planning manuals and statutory regulations governing their responsibilities in the engine room and in general.
* Completing Logbook entries of all maintenance items and weekly running hours.
* Responsible for the safe bunkering of fuel & oils.
