About the Role
As Sous Chef, you will support the Head Chef with all aspects of kitchen operations and play a key leadership role during service. You’ll ensure high-quality dishes, maintain consistency, and help drive a positive, efficient team culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations
- Lead and supervise kitchen staff
- Manage food preparation, cooking and plating to Papa’s quality standards
- Oversee stock control, ordering and food storage
- Uphold food safety, cleanliness and WHS compliance
- Support menu development and seasonal specials
- Ensure smooth, efficient service across busy nights and weekends
About You
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or senior cook in a fast-paced restaurant
- Strong understanding of Italian cuisine (highly desirable)
- Confident leadership skills with the ability to mentor and train staff
- Excellent time management and organisation
- Calm, reliable and able to perform under pressure
- Available Wednesday to Sunday (full-time)
