About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Chef or Cook to join our talented culinary team at Ela Mesa Greek Taverna in Woy Woy, NSW. As a full-time Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality Greek meals that delight our customers in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
What you'll be doing
* Preparing and cooking a variety of menu items to the highest standards
* Ensuring all food is prepared safely, hygienically and in line with health and safety regulations
* Assisting with menu planning and development to ensure our offerings are innovative and appealing
* Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment
* Providing guidance and mentorship to junior kitchen staff
* Collaborating with the front-of-house team to deliver exceptional customer service
What we're looking for
* Strong background as a Chef or Cook, ideally within a busy restaurant or cafe environment
* Minimum 3-5 years of professional chef or cook experience required
* Proven experience in preparing and cooking a range of cuisine types and menu items
* Mediterranean cuisine experience is highly valued for this position
* Excellent knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
* Food Safety Supervisor certificate can be obtained after hiring
* Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* Passion for creating high-quality, delicious meals
