NQM Gold 2 Pty Ltd is an Australian gold explorer, developer, and producer since 2009. Located southwest of Townsville, the Pajingo mine is around 50km from Charters Towers and employs approximately 250 people to run the underground mining, open cut, and ore processing operations. A fantastic opportunity has become available for a
**_Payroll Officer /HR Administrator_** to join our HR team on a 12-month fixed-term contract with the possibility of permanency. You will be supporting the Senior Payroll Officer and be able to provide HR Administration as needed. This role is located at our West Perth corporate office working on a 5/2 roster.
**About the role**:
- Full responsibility for the Australian payroll; monthly salaries, fortnightly wages, and time & attendance.
- Calculate and process terminations
- Maintain employment codes, pay codes, and payroll set up in Pronto
- Process monthly and quarterly superannuation payments
- Provide tenement distribution reporting to Accounts
- Provide payroll information to Accounts including fortnightly cash flow, monthly payroll tax exemptions, PAYG, and superannuation reporting
- Execute the payroll run (i.e process payroll, salary transfer, payroll calculations, input, audits, distribution, and financial reporting) following the existing process.
- Ensure that payroll transactions are completed in accordance with the given deadlines.
- Resolve queries regarding employees.
- Complete various reporting requirements (i.e pay-periodical, monthly, and annual tax and statistical payroll reporting (if not included in the tasks of payroll team leader of the unit), including reporting relevant data internally to finance (who will take care of the salary payments) and externally to various authorities
- Provide monthly and ad hoc reporting to HR Manager
- Generalist HR expertise and working knowledge of broad HR functions, including Employee and Industrial Relations, Award Interpretation, change management, talent management, Remuneration and Benefits, and EEO.
**About you**:
- Minimum of 10 years experience with processing payroll and superannuation payments for a medium-sized organisation
- Pronto XI Payroll experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Previous experience in the resources industry
- Working knowledge of payroll Legislation, including Fair Work Act, State and Federal Awards, Enterprise Agreements
- Strong Attention to detail.
- Strong time management skills
- Sound administration skills
