CLIENT
Based in modern premises in Lara, Victoria, our client is Australia's largest independent manufacturer of crop protection products. They provide toll formulation, regulatory, global procurement, storage and handling. Other services include laboratory and product development with a strong customer service culture focusing on safety, environmental sustainability, and quality management.
With toll formulation and manufacturing as their primary focus, they boast highly efficient manufacturing facilities in key growing regions around Australia.
ROLE
We are looking for a permanent full-time Production Supervisor to join our client's Manufacturing Team.
Reporting to the Production Manager, the ideal candidate will be process-oriented with great attention to detail and be proactive in continuous improvement within a GMP environment.
This role is primarily day shift based, with occasional flexibility required to support afternoon production activities and operational requirements. Current site hours are Monday to Thursday (8-hour shifts) and Fridays (6-hour shifts).
Duties include:
* Supervise daily manufacturing, batching, packaging and production activities
* Mentor, train and support production staff to ensure safe and efficient work practices
* Coordinate production schedules and allocate labour resources across the factory floor
* Ensure batch documentation, clean-down records and production paperwork are completed accurately
* Lead and promote a strong safety, quality and environmental culture across the site
* Ensure compliance with GMP, quality, environmental and hazardous chemical handling procedures
* Monitor production output, efficiency and operational performance against targets
* Liaise with Procurement and Production teams to ensure raw materials are available for scheduled manufacturing
* Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, quality and operational efficiency
* Coordinate maintenance requests and ensure equipment issues are addressed promptly
REQUIREMENTS
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:
* TAFE qualifications, Cert 4 in manufacturing / front-line management (minimum preferred), trade qualifications or Degree level, are considered an advantage.
* Strong people management skills in a manufacturing environment
* Experience in managing production and packaging activities
* Working experience within a GMP environment or ISO9001-accredited environment
* Experience in working with dangerous goods and hazardous chemicals
* Forklift license
* The ability to interact positively with all levels of the workforce, operational staff, and management
* This is a busy role, so you must have strong organisational, time-management and attention to detail skills
* Computer literacy – MS Office (required)
