The Opportunity: Operational Readiness Specialist for Perth based assignment (12 month contract)
Chandler Macleod is looking to appoint an Operational Readiness Specialist to support delivery of our client’s Rail, Facilities and HME projects.
The role will report to the Supt Operational Readiness Rail and be part of Sustaining Capital Engineering Management team. This is a 5 day on 2 days off roster (Mon to Fri), based in the Perth offices of our client a tier one iron ore miner, with some ad hoc site travel as required. Flexible working arrangements are also available.
The successful candidate will:
• Actively engage within the project study and delivery teams to ensure that the Operational Readiness requirements are identified and captured in the scope of work for implementation as part of project delivery.
• Provide support to the Management of Change process to identify and assess the impact on people, system, processes, and safety functions.
• Engage with Master Data and Long-Term Planning teams to develop the SAP masters data and asset management tactics for new and updated assets as part of project handover.
• Engage with vendors, stakeholders, and the inventory teams to identify consumables and critical spares required on asset handover and manage the return to warehouse of project spares and recoverable spares.
• Work closely with impacted stakeholders, site operational readiness and capability development teams to ensure that all people have the necessary training and competencies to operate and maintain new assets, processes and systems post commissioning and handover.
• Work closely with the project team and stakeholders to develop and distribute necessary communications and documentation, including operating and maintenance notices, procedures, and manuals.
The successful candidate will need to have:
§ Experience with SAP and/or other Assessment Management Systems preferred.
§ Experience with developing data load-sheets using Excel or strong Excel skills preferred.
§ Experience with developing Asset Management tactics in the mining industry in rail or heavy mobile equipment workshops is preferred.
§ Experience with Functional Safety risk management process in the mining industry preferred.
§ Experience with HAZOP risk management process in the mining industry preferred.
§ Ability to write and update operating and safety procedures.
§ Ability to work effectively in a changing environment with a focus on productive improvements.
§ Ability to challenge the normal, problem solve complex situations and forward plan.
§ Ability to travel to site on an ad hoc basis as required.
§ Strong people and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
