Position Information


Newtown High School of the Performing Arts is a partially selective (in Dance, Music and Drama), co-educational, comprehensive school located on Gadigal Land approximately 5 kms southwest of Sydney. The student population is approximately 1155. The school is strongly supported by an active and engaged Parents and Citizens Association as well as the broader community. All members of the school community have high aspirations for success. Selection Criteria

* Approval to teach French Years 7-12 and experience teaching French Continuers, with strong knowledge of current curriculum and assessment requirements.
* Proven ability to design and deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs that foster creativity and excellence and effectively cater to a range of abilities, including extension of high-potential and gifted learners.
* Strong commitment to student-focused and inclusive learning, applying effective teaching strategies that encourage participation and foster a culture of high expectations and creative risk-taking.
* Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills that forge strong relationships with the school community, engage students and elevate the profile of Languages within the school.


Conditions


An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

Applicants are to include details of their WWCC clearance number as part of this application.

Applicants seeking either permanent full time or permanent part time employment are encouraged to apply for this position. If the recommended applicant is seeking permanent part time employment (FTE from 0.1 to 0.9 inclusive), they will be offered an appointment at their desired FTE.
